2015 FCS Playoffs: Second Round

The second round of the FCS Playoffs should give us some very exciting games to watch today. One of the most anticipated games will be the rematch between North Dakota State and Montana. The Grizzlies upset the Bison in the first game of the year to ruin the Bison's chance of going undefeated, but it hasn't hurt their run for a fifth straight championship. Another great game will be the one between Missouri Valley foes Illinois State and Western Illinois. The Redbirds are looking to get back to the championship game, but the Leathernecks are wanting to show everyone that they are one of the best teams in the Valley. The first game of today will be between Colonial Athletic Association foes William & Mary and Richmond. Both teams are coming off tremendous seasons and are looking to make a run for the championship. There is also the Southland Conference rivalry between Sam Houston State and McNeese State. I think this one will be very close. Here are my predictions for the second round of the FCS Playoffs.

William & Mary at Richmond (William & Mary win 26-23)

The Citadel at Charleston Southern (The Citadel wins 27-25)

Colgate at James Madison (James Madison wins 39-19)

Western Illinois at Illinois State (Illinois State wins 29-10)

Chattanooga at Jacksonville State (Jacksonville State wins 32-19)

Montana at North Dakota State (North Dakota State wins 30-19)

Sam Houston State at McNeese State (McNeese State wins 24-23)

Northern Iowa at Portland State (Portland State wins 30-27)

2015 College Football Conference Championships

It is championship weekend for college football. It is time to see which teams rule their respective conferences. Some of these games will have a major impact on the College Football Playoff. The Big Ten Championship, ACC Championship, and SEC Championship all have teams that can either secure their place in the playoff, or ultimately see their way out. While the other games will not have a team playing to get in the playoff, they will still be games with some great action. Here are my predictions for the Conference Championship games this weekend.

MAC Championship
Bowling Green vs Northern Illinois (Bowling Green wins 38-31)

AAC Championship
Temple vs Houston (Houston wins 36-28)

Conference USA Championship
Southern Mississippi vs Western Kentucky (Western Kentucky wins 38-37)

SEC Championship
Florida vs Alabama (Alabama wins 28-20)

Mountain West Championship
Air Force vs San Diego State (San Diego State wins 25-22)

Pac 12 Championship
Stanford vs USC (Stanford wins 30-28)

Big Ten Championship
Michigan State vs Iowa (Iowa wins 27-25)

ACC Championship
North Carolina vs Clemson (North Carolina wins 35-33)

2015 FCS Playoffs: First Round

With Black Friday out of the way and all of the turkey has digested, it is time for the FCS Playoffs! This is the time when everyone's bellies are empty and hungry for the championship. Even though these playoffs don't get much media attention, it is still some of the best football you will see being played this year. This might be the year that North Dakota State runs out of gas on their "Drive for Five." Jacksonville State looks like a tough, FBS level football team and they have been blowing out everyone they have played this year. Illinois State looks to be just as good as last year, if not better. McNeese State looks very dominant, as well as Dayton. There is always Sam Houston State, who looks to creep in deep into the playoffs. These teams that I have named look to be the favorites for making the Final Four of the FCS Playoffs, but really any of the teams in the bracket has a good chance to go far. I am going to go ahead and say that Jacksonville State will come away with the championship this year. Here are my predictions for the first round games being played today.

Western Illinois at Dayton (Dayton wins 20-7)

Fordham at Chattanooga (Fordham wins 32-29)

The Citadel at Coastal Carolina (Coastal Carolina wins 29-23)

Southern Utah at Sam Houston State (Sam Houston State wins 38-35)

South Dakota State at Montana (South Dakota State wins 24-19)

Duquesne at William & Mary (Duquesne wins 23-22)

Colgate at New Hampshire (New Hampshire wins 18-12)

Eastern Illinois at Northern Iowa (Northern Iowa wins 23-14)

Last week was a pretty good week for me as I went 7-2. Florida was a surprise for me and many others as they upset Mississippi. 2015 FCS Top 10 Picks - Week 6

Last week was a very good week for my predictions as I finished 5-1. The only blemish on that record came when I picked South Dakota State to defeat North Dakota State. Many of the Bison fans thought I was crazy that I could even think of such a notion, but there were many other analysts that thought the Jackrabbits would pull off the victory as well. I guess I should have trusted the wise Bison fans and picked them to win it since they are the four-time defend National Champion, If there is one thing I have found since predicting the FCS is that the FCS is very difficult to predict. So with that here are my picks for Week 6.

#2 Coastal Carolina vs Presbyterian (Coastal Carolina wins 34-0)

#3 North Dakota State vs #10 Northern Iowa (North Dakota State wins 29-8)

#4 Illinois State vs #9 Youngstown State (Youngstown State wins 28-22)

#5 James Madison vs Towson (James Madison wins 42-19)

#6 Chattanooga vs Furman (Chattanooga wins 23-9)

#7 Eastern Washington vs Cal Poly (Eastern Washington wins 34-33)

#8 South Dakota State vs #19 Indiana State (South Dakota State wins 28-25)

Week 1: 2-7 (.222%)
Week 2: 5-2 (.714%)
Week 3: 4-5 (.444%)
Week 4: 4-3 (.571%)
Week 5: 5-1 (.833%)
